Scope of the Courses
Commerce and Management Studies (M.Com.)
We are offering the two year fulltime M.Com. program with the affiliation from the Calicut University with a motive of providing more practical inputs to the students to meet the needs of business and industry in India and at Global level they have been designed with specialization in financial market and institution, security analysis and portfolio management, strategic Financial management and financial derivatives. With more thrust on area like international business, information technology and industrial training, our students will have an edge over others in the employment opportunities as they would be well equipped to meet the challenges.
English Language and Literature (MA English)
M.A. in English Language and Literature is the Latest addition to the host of new generation courses under offer in the college. The M.A. syllabus consisting of an assortment of courses like Writing for the media, Film Studies, Teaching of English etc. serves much variety and openness in creating to the various tastes of students from different streams. Added to this is the fact that the program with these subjects in combination offers much scope for getting well planned to the satisfaction of each these are opening a plenty for post graduates in English in the fields of news reporting, editing, proof reading, advertisement, translation, public relations, content writing, not to mention teaching and research.
English Language and Literature (BA English)
The college offers the much sought-after BA in English Language and Literature with Journalism and Audio Visual Communication as complementarities. This unique combination of subjects makes it a semi-professional course offering the students the choice of going in for PG studies in English Language and Literature or taking up Journalism, which has great job potential in the present day, as a practicing career, after the course.
Commerce And Management Studies (BCom and B.B.A)
In this era of liberalization, privatization and globalization the scope of Commerce and Management Studies has increased exponentially. B.Com and BBA graduates are in great demand in the fields of Finance, Management, Banking, Insurance, Marketing, Portfolio Management etc.
Computer Science (B.Sc Computer Science)
The IT boom and the rapid growth in science and technology have opened up new vistas of job opportunities. The college offers B.Sc in Computer Science which seeks to equip the learners to meet the spiraling demand of the IT industry. It provides special training in computer application of softwares such as Visual Basic, V.B.net, ASP.net, Visual C++, PHP, Oracle, Multimedia etc.
Multimedia Communication (BMMC)
Very since the advent of computer technologies, multimedia has been one of the major beneficiaries of technological and creative changes and demands. Multimedia covers the concepts of computer graphics, sound editing, visual editing and 3D Animation. A multimedia professional can find placement in MNCs in various fields like Advertising, Media Publishing and Digital film making.
Electronics (B.Sc Electronics)
The advancements in science and technology have given Electronics a new impetus and dimension. The three year B.Sc degree in Electronics is designed to keep the students abreast of the latest developments in the field and it creates a functional awareness of electronic devices and indepth knowledge in their theoretical underpinning, in areas like circuit designing and embedded systems.
Mathematics (B.Sc Mathematics)

Geology (B.Sc. Geology)
Geology provides the information regarding the whole evolution of the earth and its inhabitants and is of practical importance to mankind. Geology promises a wide range of openings in the field of mining such as coal and different kinds of minerals and ores, petroleum exploration, water sector, civil engineering, meteorology and in the marine field etc. The college offers B.Sc. Geology with Chemistry and Statistics as complementary.
Sociology (B.A. Sociology)
Sociology is the youngest of the recognized social science. It allows us to look afresh at a world we have always taken for granted to examine our own surroundings with the same curiosity and fascination that we might bring to an exotic alien culture. It is a scientific study of human society and social behavior. As complementary papers GEMS Arts and Science College is offering Indian Constitution and Politics and General Psychology which will also helps the students in their future endeavors.
